Choose the walk that suits you.
The walls link Ston and Mali Ston, but the open route depends on current access. Ask staff which entrance, direction and exit apply to your ticket. The full historic wall length and the distance visitors can walk are different things.
For planning, allow around 1–2 hours for a wall visit at an unhurried pace, with extra time for photographs and the return between towns. Your chosen section, fitness and weather will change that estimate.

The Society of Friends of Dubrovnik Antiquities (DPDS) provides official ticket and access information. Check the Ston product carefully: prices, age categories, inclusions and opening times may change.
Follow the official link for the latest information and confirm any last-entry restriction before travelling. Do not plan a sunset walk unless the day’s opening hours explicitly allow it.

Ston tickets · official shopDress for stone and sun.
Wear comfortable shoes with reliable grip. Bring water, sun protection and a hat. Exposed sections can become hot; in summer, an early visit within opening hours is often the more comfortable choice.
Rain can make stone slippery and strong wind can make heights less comfortable. Check the forecast and follow staff advice. The route has steep stairs and is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs; supervise children closely.
Getting here, then slowing down.
Libertas line 15 links Dubrovnik and Ston. Check the operator’s date-specific timetable and Sunday/holiday restrictions, and note your return departure before leaving Dubrovnik.
The tourist board’s 2022 town map marks parking east of Ston’s old centre, near the approach to Veliki Kaštio, and beside Mali Ston’s harbour. Use the signs and payment instructions on arrival; the map is not a live parking-availability feed.

Ston Tourist BoardOur suggestion for an unhurried day.
Begin with the walls while conditions are comfortable. Afterwards, explore Ston’s streets and, when open, visit the saltworks to understand the landscape you have just seen from above.
Continue to Mali Ston for its harbour and local seafood. Arrange oyster tastings or boat visits directly with a producer in advance. Keep the afternoon flexible: the best part of Ston is having time to stay.
