About this guide

A clear view of our sources.

An independent guide should make it easy to understand what is known, where it comes from and what still needs checking before a visit.

Updated 20 September 2026 · Editorial policy

An independent Stonwalls.com guide.

Stonwalls.com is an editorial visitor guide. It is not the walls operator, a ticket office or the tourist board. Official organisations remain responsible for their own prices, opening hours, routes and booking terms.

This edition uses AI-assisted writing and translation with checks against the linked public sources. It does not claim an on-site inspection, independent native-language proofreading or endorsement by the organisations mentioned.

Primary sources, close to the claim.

We use DPDS for the fortifications and ticket conditions, the Ston Tourist Board for its published map and visitor contacts, Solana Ston for salt production, and named businesses for their own contact details. Links appear beside relevant sections as well as at the end of each guide.

Walking and visit durations are editorial planning estimates. The orientation diagram is schematic. Historic wall lengths are not presented as the distance of an open visitor route.

A date is a record, not a guarantee.

The original source review was completed on 19 September 2026. On 20 September, we added the tourist board’s walking-time guidance, saltworks reception details and landmark photography. The ticket snapshot remains dated 19 September, with 20 September selected in the shop.

A future revision should update the relevant source, the factual statement and every language version together. For a discrepancy affecting your visit, contact the operator through the official links rather than relying on this guide alone.

Real photographs, credited openly.

The website uses photographs of Ston and Mali Ston, resized and cropped for the layout. Each photographer and licence is listed in the footer, with direct links to the source files. The wall panorama’s source also records its photographic stitching and corrections.
